The most wildly passionate artist I've seen perform would be G.Rock Bentley of the Signal 1 band out of Sarasota. I've been around rock n roll quite a bit doing live sound and recording. This guy just explodes, committed to every single moment of the performance. Eyes a fire and range from Ronnie Dio lows to Geddy Lee highs, each note is belted not just in key but with conviction that both tears through your mind and draws you in. You absolutely have to see this guy. The contest doesnt matter as much getting out and seeing this live. You wont believe how hard rock and jazz fusion guitar work intertwine in way that makes you forget they call it art, you just feel it whatever they are going to call it.

I have had many opertunities to see and hear great music, but recently I was lucky enough to attend two different Crafts in San Diego, first the Jim James one, followed by the Francis Black one at the Belly Up. Both were completely amazing for very different reasons. To learn each persons process directly from the person, and the excellent way in which Warren Zane interviews them. I wish I could see every single one of these events, I have been so fortunate to see the ones here in San Diego. I am a musicain myself, with my degree in music from San Francisco State university, and in all my years of study and performance, I have learned that the best way to learn about a craft such as song writing, is by studing how others do it. Sometimes we find ways to a song, we wouldn't normally get to, via a method we hadn't tried before. I think these Craft sessions are some of the most educational events I have ever attended. In college it was always the best when a person who was actually working in music, a "professional", would come in and talk to us about the world "out there". In terms of the Jim James session, it was so great to learn of his process, in terms of the Francis Black, it was amazing to hear his take on the industry. These sessions are so meaningful too me, that I will continue to make every effort to see each one I am cappable of seeing. inspite of any contest I would just like to say thank you for putting on such a phenominal event!

The best experience I had was a 3 doors down concert - it was just my wife and I and NO KIDS... except the concert go'ers. It was great! Really wonderful. We went sky diving and my wifes video has Kryptonite song on it. Simply a great time and remembered to this day.
