Helen comes from 4 generations of dressmaking on her mother’s side and learnt to sew at an early age. She has no formal training at all in fashion design and until 5 years ago was an accountant. Helen now has a bridal & couture label and has won almost every fashion award in Australia with her designs. Her ultimate goal is to be known internationally and to earn enough money to give her daughter all the things she never had growing up.

Helen is over the top, flamboyant & avant garde & not afraid to say what she thinks. On the other hand she has her darker moments and says she lacks the ability to say no to others. Helen is determined to win Project Runway by beating one person at a time; she sees the competition as a way to push herself & as the next phase in her career.
