Petrova's parents were in the fashion industry in NZ. Her father died when she was 6 and she then moved to Australia. She studied at RMIT Melbourne where she did a Bachelor of Fashion design and has a boutique called 'Lady' in Melbourne where she sells her own label 'Lady' as well as selling other designers, which she has had for a year (it has just moved to a more prominent location). Her ultimate goal is to show what she can create and bring well designed clothes to the masses as well as making Australian designers as much of the public consciousness as footballers & actors etc. She describes herself as friendly, bubbly, organized but messy, positive & punctual but also has a tendency to bite off more than she can chew. Fashion is everything she does – she thinks about it all the time particularly the design side and the magical world that she can believe in regarding fashion and design. Project Runway will give her the opportunity to meet more designers and let Australia know who she is – she would like to be a celebrity designer. |
