Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent are among some of the designers Shane Garland has admired throughout his own designing career. After completing a certificate in Dress Design nearly 15 years ago at the National Art School in East Sydney, Shane has specialized in the design of both men’s and women’s wear, with a strong focus on bridal, evening wear, tailored garments and costumes. Shane is a quietly spoken ‘good guy’ who has been hit with some of life’s hard knocks. Five years ago Shane was forced to put his fashion career on hold as he crawled his way back from near bankruptcy and the devastation of a failed relationship. He has only been back in the industry full time for 3 months and is determined to get back on the horse and establish himself as a successful Australian designer. |
