Presented by MySpace Comedy, Secret Standup has but one simple goal: to put the hottest, big name comedians of today in the coziest club settings of just a few hundred seats - for free, and exclusively for MySpace members. As an added bonus, each headlining comic brings with them awareness of one of their favorite charities, providing fans with an opportunity to make donations and support a worthy cause.
"RECAP FOOTAGE OF DEC. 4TH SHOW IN SAN DIEGO!"
When MySpace puts together an event that involves the word "Secret" and requires fans to stand in a line, that usually means it's going to rain, but that wasn't the case for the more than 300 MySpacers who lined up in beautiful, sunny, warm, clear-skied San Diego, California to see none other than Jon Lovitz perform a free Secret Standup show exclusively for MySpace members!
For our tenth edition of Secret Standup, the veteran actor-comedian hosted MySpacers at his very own Jon Lovitz Comedy Club at the Aubergine lounge in La Jolla's bustling Gaslamp Quarter. Fellow comics Frazier Smith and Nick Thune did a great job warming up the MySpace crowd for Lovitz, who himself took the stage to a one-minute standing ovation.
Over the next seventy-five minutes, Lovitz absolutely slew his audience with singularly hilarious material about Hollywood, Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudy Guliani, and, of course, women. The star of "Saturday Night Live" and "NewsRadio" concluded his performance with original songs about his good friend, comedian Bob Saget, and remained after the show to sign posters and take pictures with all his MySpace fans, many of whom had never been to a standup gig before. Naturally, they loved it.
