Q: What is this MySpace dude animated circle thingy that shows up over the video?
A: That is called a "throbber". It is showing up on the player to let you know that your player is buffering data in preparation for playback. If you keep seeing this pop up over the video, you should choose a lower streaming rate from the buttons on the lower left (Low, Med, High). If your player is buffering frequently it means your computer doesn't have enough bandwidth to sustain the current streaming rate. This could be caused by either not having a fast enough internet connection, or by clogging your internet connection with unrelated traffic. For the latter, here are some suggestions to to reduce your ambient bandwidth usage:

Q: Why doesn't the shrink/stretch button do anything?
A: The shrink/stretch button only makes video larger than its encoded size, it won't make video smaller than the size it was encoded at. If you push the shrink/stretch button and nothing happens, it's because the video is exactly the same size as the playback window. If you want to see larger video, try the full screen button in the lower right corner of the player.

Q: What kind of bandwidth do I need to play each stream?
A: Your internet connection needs to be able to sustain a continuous transfer speed to play a live stream. You can check your bandwidth here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest. Make sure you're not downloading anything or streaming anything when you test or you will corrupt your results. Here are the approximate bit rates of the streams that you can choose in the Operation MySpace player:

Low: 400 kilobits per sec
Med: 750 kilobits per sec
High: 1500 kilobits per sec

Q: I can't see the stream! Help!!!
A: Try the following, in sequence, until you can see the stream:
  1. Wave your arms wildly in the air and cry out in angst. See, doesn't that feel better?
  2. Try refreshing the page.
  3. Restart your browser (close all browser windows, completely exiting the browser application, then start it back up).
  4. Uninstall and then reinstall the latest Adobe Flash Player. Then restart your browser.
  5. Reboot your computer.
  6. Post a message to the forums. Maybe someone has the same problem and fixed it.
  7. If you figure out how to solve your problem, please post a solution in the forums for others to benefit from.
