This show was definitely one of the cooler shows in the secret show series. it was a great combination of location (the middle of america), club (the Record Bar, whose slogan is cleverly titled Eat. Hear) and two amazing bands from the middle of England Maxïmo Park and The Cribs.

What made the show so good, was the off chance you have never heard of these bands but trust the MySpace music taste, you walk into the Record Bar, and to quote Maxïmo Park "get your socks blown off your feet". Two bands who will probably never play in Kansas city together ever again, in a place this small, to such and eager crowd. Both bands played the $#*t out of that stage that night, it was amazing.

Big Ups to the bands for playing, go out and support them and see them live when they come to your town, it is highly recommended. and buy the new Maxïmo park CD "our Earthly Pleasures" and the The Cribs CD "Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever" that are both out now. thanks to Warp and WB for routing their great bands though, and the record bar for hosting us.
