This was kind of a special show for Secret Shows in many ways. First off, it was our first show in a Bowling Alley! Warner Brothers & Rilo Kiley were not only kind enough to put the show in a bowling alley, but also paid for 2 hrs of bowling for Secret Show fans for FREE!

Secondly, Rilo Kiley was essentially the first band to ever play a MySpace Secret Show. Now technically the Show Was Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins (Jenny of Rilo) & The Elected (Blake of Rilo) Read about it here, it was awesome! Anyways, after the proper show ended the fans were treated to a lil' Rilo Kiley Encore Set. The Show basically set the tone for the entire series and launched it of in style.

So, back to present Day.   Rilo Kiley   hasn't   played a proper live show in over 2 ½ years (sans Secret show encore), and has not unveiled any new material live from the forthcoming CD "Under the Blacklight" that comes out 8/21. This show would change all of that. An amazing performance from the band sent the fans into an epileptic fit. They played not only a bunch of new songs, but greatest hits almost of everything. I don't think there was a face in the crowd without a smile on it. It was like MySpace threw a gigantic party in a bowling alley, let people bowl for free, had an awesome band play, and did we mention there was hot dogs too? Mmmm

We here at MySpace owe a great deal to Rilo Kiley, their Management (Darren / Christine), Warner Brothers (Brant) , Michael Sieben for his poster art, and especially the fans, cause if it wasn't for fans like Paige Rosenthal the first girl in line at the very first show, we wouldn't do it.
