Happy Birthday Cameron!
The crowd cheered and sang, as Kevin conducted the audience in a bout of “the happy birthday” song. Out came a cake engulfed in flaming candles, all in celebration for Kevin Drew’s brother who celebrated his birthday at the MySpace Secret show performance of the Broken Social Scene Presents Kevin Drew.
It was indeed, not only the first performance the Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew would have in front of a public audience, it would also be the first ever Secret Show /Birthday Party MySpace has ever had.
It was indeed a special night, it was really great to see the fans turn out and snatch up all the wristbands for the show in a matter of minutes. Well worth it to the kids who waited in line for the FREE show, and got to be one of the first to view an awesome performance of the newest cultivation of the Many Broken Social Scene project to arise. It was Kevin Drew, founding member of the BSS, and a few other well seasoned musicians from other infamous Canadian bands playing the rather delightful sounds of “Spirit If..” that will be out this month.
We all had a great time, fans, bands, Cambridge, it was such a good performance and vibe, everybody that left had a smile on their face from ear to ear, and that was a good feeling. Thanks goes out to Arts & Cratfs and Broken Social Scene/Kevin Drew for putting smiles on everyone’s faces and having us along for the night. It was a treat!
