Happy CD Release MCS!
It’s not everyday you get to see your favorite band on the release date of their new, highly anticipated album in a venue they outgrew years ago. But this is just the situation 250 lucky fans found themselves in when Motion City Soundtrack played the Knitting Factory in New York City on Tuesday September 18th.

When the Knitting Factory closed their doors at 5am the night before, they had already found one fan sleeping outside to be the first in line. Others admittedly skipped “4th period” or left school at lunch time to ensure their entry for this special Secret Show.

First up was Eons, who were greeted with an antsy and hyped up crowd who instantly heated up the room with their young, teen energy. Next up was MCS’ fellow Epitaph label mates, Farewell, whose upcoming album happened to be a week away from hitting the streets. Secret Show fans were able to buy the new album at the show early, one week before it hits stores, adding excitement to the night.

Nearly eighteen hours after the first fan was found sleeping in line, Motion City Soundtrack took the stage, with synths and guitars blaring for the opening track off their new record, “Fell In Life Without You.” The band plowed through an over ninety minute set that included “It Had To Be You,” “This Is For Real,” “Everything Is Alright” and “Let’s Get ****ed Up and Die” while the crowd jumped up and down mob style with their hands in the air, singing every single word to every song. The band left the stage and fans were still screaming for more, as MCS finished off the night with “Attractive Today” and ending with “The Future Freaks Me Out.”
