9/12 Raleigh, NC

Move over Wright Brothers, MySpace Secret Shows just took over as the most monumental event ever to take place in the state of North Carolina!!!

Okay, maybe not but it should be up there˙

Flyleaf was the band, September 12th was the night, Raleigh was the city and the Lincoln Theatre (with their fancy mural) was the spot of our first visit to the state that gave birth to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

Fans lined up early and came from as far as 3 hours away (perhaps more). Forty or so lucky ones were treated to a meet and greet with the band before doors were officially opened. One die-hard fan took advantage of this opportunity and gave Flyleaf lead singer, Lacey Mosley, her birthday present.

Once the doors opened, local band Richard Bacchus and The Luckiest Girls got the crowd going, warming up the stage for Flyleaf.

Flyleaf's set blew the minds of those that filled the theatre. On one occasion, feeding off of the fans energy and perhaps wanting to emulate UNC alum, Michael Jordan, Lacey jumped off of speakers that seemed to be thrice her height! Able to walk away unscathed from this leap, the band continued to rock on and the crowd went berserk and fists were a-pumpinˇ¦ when they performed their hits ˇ§All Around Meˇ¨ and "I'm So Sick."

The night was truly memorable and I want to give my deepest thanks to Flyleaf for an awesome set and for sticking around after the show to sign autographs. Also want to thank Richard Bucchus and his girls, the folks at Octone, the Lincoln Theatre, the elderly gentleman with the fancy bicycle who entertained the folks outside the venue and of course, the fans who came out. Hope you enjoyed it!
