10/6 Seattle, WA

Cease to Begin is the name of the new album, but the title hardly represents the beautiful sounds that this album makes. Luckily we were able to let a few local Seattle residents understand that last Sat night.

The show was held at an unusual community center called the Vera Project , a very MySpace type of environment. Not only was it someplace you could go to create music, record it, entertain with music, but it also had screen-printing there and other great creative activities that were all FREE. Woulda made a perfect Secret Show sweat shop ? could do all the shows, and print the posters all in one place! Anyways it is a really great place, check out the link and consider building one in your town to support local arts!

Speaking of art, the guy who opened Tyler Ramsey, who coincidentally is one of the new guitarists for the Band Of Horses and has some awesome guitar picking skills, matched with a seriously beautiful voice. He picked and sang to a very spellbound crowd, it was quite pleasant to see a show where people were so into the music they couldn't talk, just listen.

The Band Of Horses put out one of the most beautiful CD's last year for their first release, leaving a lot to live up to on this softmore release "Cease to Begin". Hot Damn, is this not one of the most beautiful sounding CD's to hit record stores/internet this year. and Don't get me started on the live show, cause it is the perfect complement to the actual music. There is just something to watching "dudes" who are just playing music because it feels good, for all the right reasons. Refreshing to say the least. The show was awesome, they played all the new jams, and a few golden oldies from the first CD. This band is the Jam, hands down, and I don't mean the British jam, More like the actual Band band. Soo good. Soo good.
