Who better than Pitbull, the 1 Latin Artist on MySpace to play our first Secret Show in Dallas? Previewing new songs off the album, named after the infamous Cuban boatlift El Mariel that relocated almost 125,000 cubanos to Florida, Pit showed that he had more than "Culo" on his mind. His between-song topics covered subjects ranging from the current state of his native Cuba to what he calls the war in Iraq.
Dressed in a sky-blue jacket over a white tank top, jeans and sunglasses, he blasted his way through club classics from his debut, 2004's M.I.A.M.I. The young crowd couldn’t help but jump up and down with hands way, way the air. All night long Pit and crowed jammed together on songs like "Culo," "Toma," "Dammit Man," "Fuego" and "Ay Chico (Lengua Afuera)."
Before he exited the stage, he surprised the crowd with the remix of Daddy Yankee’s international hit, "Gasolina—which of course featured Pitbull in a guest slot. The fully energized onlookers didn't want to leave, so Pitbull promised he'd stick around for pictures and autographs. As a man of his word, after a short break to the dressing room, he returned to his fans. Pitbull signed every poster and took every picture that was asked of him. For those in attendance, the special one-on-one interaction with their favorite superstar is exactly why they came – and why they didn't mind the wait.
