Hundreds of Las Vegas MySpacers were treated to a special surprise last week, when Secret Shows presented a surprise performance by none other than E-40 and Lil Scrappy! Free and exclusively for MySpace members, the Bay Area Ambassador and Atlanta’s bravest MC played a special high-noon gig in the middle of the biggest weekend to ever hit the city of Vegas – NBA All-Star Weekend!

Before the show even started, official MySpace DJs Latin Prince and DJ Knuckles had the kids gettin’ hyphy and goin’ dumb. One of Warner Bros.’ newest MCs, Jay Rock took a turn warming up the MySpace crowd, with event host Mike Jones following up with an impromptu performance of "Back Then." MySpacers sang along with Jones, chanting “Back then they didn’t want me, now hot they all want me!” Mike Jones then introduced Lil Scrappy, who slew the Vegas audience with hits like "Money in the Bank" and “Oh Yeah" while Jones hung back with the crowd for pictures and autographs.

Just a day earlier, rumors circulated and fear spread: was E-40 dead? Tales were told of the hyphy pioneer dying in all sorts of ways, from being gunned down in a drive-by to falling prey to a terrible ghostriding accident! Radio DJs had already begun playing tributes to the hip-hop icon, but when E-40 himself took the MySpace stage, everyone knew the planet’s hyphiest man was alive and well. MySpacers texted furiously into their phones, “He’s alive! He’s performing!”

"It's a compliment to see how many people care about you,” said Omeezy, 40’s right hand man on stage. “They wouldn’t have said it if they didn’t care!” And care the MySpacers did, showing their love by jumping, snapping and shaking those dreads throughout 40’s unforgettable set until the lights turned on!

MySpace wishes to thank Brian Saliba at the University Theatre; Ayai Kleinman and Brannon Scales at Warner Bros. Records; and host Mike Jones, DJs Latin Prince and Knuckles, Jay Rock, Omeezy & Chaz, Lil Scrappy and E-40 for putting on the one-of-a-kind gig, and of course Chili’s for making all Secret Shows free!
