Sometimes as a band you work really, really hard and countless hours to record an album. When you are through, you just need a release…like a party with 300 of your closest friends! In the case of what happened with Circa Survive, the band had spent months outside of their hometown of Philly recording their new CD entitled, "On Letting Go," and was ready to break out and unleash their spawn on the fine city of Baltimore, and then the rest of the world.

The location was a tiny, upstairs club called Fletcher’s, a place we had never been to before but will definitely come back to if we ever return to Baltimore. It was the perfect venue to see a band up close and personal. A nice break from the MEGA CONGLOM arena with 9 dollar beers and 6 dollar hot dogs.

Circa Survive brought along a few bands to help warm up the crowd. First up was the very interesting, a bit unusual, yet very entertaining Cages, followed after by Except After Sea. The buzz that filled the soggy Baltimore night was caused by the anticipation of the fans wanting to hear some of the new Circa Survive songs, and new songs they got! Anthony, the singer, exhaled after the first new song was belted out as if all the weight were lifted off his shoulders as he was relieved to say "Wow, that was the first time we have played that live!" The fans went bonkers! It must be a relief to play a show of all new materials only to have kids screaming and fist pumping for more after each song. The show was awesome, the bands killed it, and we want to thank them all for playing and having us be a part of their record release.
