It's hard to believe that the past year and a half of Secret Shows' existence we hadn't hit up "Detroit Rock City." I mean after all, it even has the word "Rock" in its nickname. After the clue was posted from Chili's, the forum thread demanding a Tiger Army Secret Show shot up to nearly 200 posts. It had been a couple years since the band had played the Motor City and since the band had just released their fourth album "Music From Regions Beyond," it was the perfect opportunity for the band to give their Michigan fans a chance to listen to the new songs live before the rest of the world gets to hear them on the Warped Tour this summer.

Opening a show for Tiger Army in front of their most die-hard fans is no easy task and while many bands might no be able to pull it off, Detroit's hometown punk heroes, The Betty Fords, did the job better than most. The band played songs off their albums, "The American Dream" and "Punk Junk and Genius," as well as a variety of covers ranging from Johnny Cash to The Cure. Make sure you add them as friends and leave them comments nagging them to play more shows.

Finally, after a long, hot, sweaty, wait, Tiger Army finally took the stage with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees in the Shelter. The heat didn't get to the band or the crowd as they ripped through a set featuring songs from all of their albums including "Forever Fades Away" and "Afterworld" from the new album.
