Racing background:
Laurie earned her NHRA competition drivers license in 2005 after graduating from Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. Although she’s become a licensed NHRA race car driver, Laurie Force never did so with the intention of competing against daughters Ashley, Brittany and Courtney.

She completed the required courses simply to provide a foundation for better understanding and communication with her racing-oriented family. Along the way, she acquired a new appreciation for what her husband of 24 years, champion drag racer John Force, has accomplished in his 30 seasons on the pro tour. Nevertheless, Laurie’s interest and participation in the sport didn’t begin with her daughters’ decisions to make a career in the family business. After she married, she helped out on the bare bones crew that supported her husband who, at the time, had not yet won a single tour event.

Notable:           
Early in the Force racing career, Laurie was instrumental in business contracts, most notably the Wendy’s sponsorship, sponsor event recap reports and even the mixing of race fuel and packing of the race car parachutes.

Ashley’s birth in 1982 changed everything. While assuming responsibility for raising a family, Laurie made sure to educate the girls on the business by attending as many races as possible, especially the biggest of all, the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana.
